The invention described is a test method and testing kit used in the detection and quantitation of complement fixation antimicrobial antibodies, such as antiviral antibodies, in human or animal serum samples. Undiluted heat inactivated serum samples are allowed to diffuse radially from wells punched in the solidified gel.
