PURPOSE:To inhibit the formation of metallic oxide during hot dipping and to obtain a hot dipped conductor of high quality by moving a copper conductor in the longitudinal direction, coating it with an org., water soluble and neutral flux, heating the coated conductor to a specified temp., and passing it through a molten tin or tin alloy bath. CONSTITUTION:A copper or copper alloy conductor (a) such as a wire rod or a bar is drawn out of a supply bobbin 1, moved in the longitudinal direction, and coated with an org., water soluble and neutral flux by passing through a flux tank 3 with guide rolls 2a-2c. The coated conductor (a) is passed through a heating furnace 6 with guide rolls 2c, 2d to heat the surface of the conductor (a) to 90-180 deg.C, and it is passed through a molten tin or tin alloy bath in a hot dipping tank 4. The hot dipped conductor (a) is wound with a winder 5. Thus, the loss of the metal for hot dipping due to oxidation is reduced. |
