PURPOSE:To obtain a narrow-track magnetic head having high reliability while preventing staggered butting by laminating core materials having the thickness larger than the required track width and cutting the laminated core materials in such a manner that the laminated surfaces remain. CONSTITUTION:Soft magnetic materials 1 which are thin sheet metals having the thickness T0 larger than the required track width Tw are laminated via insulating layers 2 to obtain a laminated block B1. The block B1 is cut at a cutting surface d1 to form a laminated block B2. A hollow groove 4 for winding running in the lamination direction of the materials 1 is formed to one B'2 of the block B2. The cut surface on the groove 4 for the window of wiring side of the block B'2 and the cut surface of the other block B2 are butted and adhered to each other via a gap material layer 5 and the adhered block is cut to obtain laminated blocks B3, B3. The block B3 is cut at the two cutting surfaces d2, d2 having the spacing corresponding to the required track width Tw in such a manner that the layers 2 remain.
