PURPOSE:To obtain a correct exposure by controlling a main light emission by an output of a detecting means for integrating a level difference of a a reflected light from an object to be photographed on the time of a light emission and the time of non-light emission of a light emitting means which turns on and off by synchronizing with a reference pulse. CONSTITUTION:A projection control means 4 drives a projecting means 3 by a light emitting clock phiL from a controller 9 by synchronizing with a reference clock phi0 from a reference clock generator 10, and a generated light passes through an optical system 2 and irradiates an object to be photographed 1. Its reflected light is made incident on a detecting means 7 through the optical system 2. By synchronizing with a timing clock sent from the controller 9, a light quantity signal C of a reflected light of the time of a light emission and the time of non-light emission of the projecting means 3 is sent to a lash quantity operating means 8 from the detector 7, a difference of both light quantities is integrated, a target value X a flash light emitting quantity is calculated, and in accordance with it, the flash light emitting quantity of a flash light source 5 is controlled through a flash control means 6, and a correct exposure can be obtained.
