PURPOSE:To provide the titled inhibitor containing the extract obtained from the peel of a fruit of a plant belonging to chinaberry family. CONSTITUTION:The extract (e.g. the compound of formula) obtained from the peel of the fruit of Landium domesticum Jack var. Duku (abbreviated as Duku) or Landium domesticum Jack var. Langsat (abbreviated as Langsat) is used as an active component to obtain the objective 5alpha-reductase inhibitor effective to strongly inhibit the action of 5alpha-reductase, and useful for the remedy and/or prevention of diseases caused by the excessive production of dihydrotestosterone such as apopecia, acne, prostomegaly, etc. It is administered constitutionally or locally by oral or parenteral administration. Dose: 1mg-1g per dose. The Duku and the Langsat are shrub of Meliaceae family distributing widely in various districts in the Southeast Asia.
