PURPOSE:To make it possible to carry out recording by manual insertion in a laser printer, by indicating the mode of manual insertion and the size of papers when no storing section storing therein papers having a designated size which is instructed from an external device is set. CONSTITUTION:A designated medium size information stored in a memory means in an external device is compared with paper size informations from medium size detecting means 320, 324 in paper cassetters 317, 321, and if the informations agrees with each other, papers are fed one by one by the associated feed roller 318, and are conveyed through a regist roller 329 onto a photosensitive member 301 where a toner image set by a laser beam from an information recording means 311, is transferred onto each paper. On the other hand, when the result of comparison shows no agreement instructions are made to a display section to indicate such that papers having a certain size should be fed to a manual insertion paper feed roller 327. Accordingly, recording may be made by manual insertion, and the replacement of cassetts is not absolutely necessary. |
