PURPOSE:To provide high precision grinding by subtracting the amount of dislocation of the working surface of a grinding wheel at its circumferential surface and shoulder part with respect to a reference point sensed through utilization of the reference surface of a referencing member from an absolute point of a grinding wheel table and thereby determining the current position register at the initial stage. CONSTITUTION:If, at the time of replacing the grinding wheel G, its working surfaces at the circumferential surface Ga and shoulder part Gb are put in contact by a contacting means 3 with No.1 and 2 reference surfaces Sa, Sb of a referencing member S, respectively, a dislocation detective means 4 senses the relative position of a wheel table 2 in contact with respect to the X, Z directions and outputs the amounts Wx, Wz of the said working surfaces Ga and Gb by reference to a reference point Pg. When the wheel table 2 is returned to its initial position, a setting means 6 makes subtraction of the obtained Wx, Wz from the data of the absolute positions of wheel table 2 and a work table 1 in their respective initial positions, which have been stored in a memory 5, so as to calculate the absolute positions of the working surfaces Ga, Gb in their respective initial positions to serve for setting of the current position registers RX, RZ. This assures machining in high precision. |
