PURPOSE:To improve running property, durability, etc. by providing directly or via a thin inorg. film an aminosilane film, etc. on a magnetic layer provided on a disk-shaped substrate and forming a lubricating film such as a fluorinated carbon lubricating film contg. a carboxyl group or sulfonyl group, etc. on said film. CONSTITUTION:Magnetic films 3, 3 contg. gamma-Fe2O3, etc. are formed on both sides of, for example, an Al substrate 1 having alumite layers 2. The thin inorg. films 4 consisting of the oxide, carbide can nitride of Ti, Al, Mg, W, Bi or the mixture composed thereof are provided on the surfaces of the films 3, 3 or the inorg. silicone compd. films 4, 4. contg. fluorinated silane compd., long chain alkyl silane or graphite fluoride are provided therein. The aminosilane compd. films or epoxy silane compd. films 5, 5 are then formed on the films 4, 4 and thereafter the fluorinated carbon lubricating films contg. COO or SO3 or polysiloxane lubricating films 6, 6 contg. COO or SO3 are provided thereon. The films 6, 6 are thus securely bonded thereto and the magnetic recording medium having a long life is obtd. and the life of the magnetic head is extended. |
