PURPOSE:To reduce the capacity of sound information memory of the reproducing device by recording audio information as plural blocks on time-division basis, and reading speech information of respective blocks on time-division basis during reproduction and obtaining a continuous sound signal. CONSTITUTION:A sound signal is converted by an A/D converter 27 into a digital signal, which is then processed by digital compression and specific modulation through a recording signal processing circuit 28 and divided into blocks. A block address control circuit 29 records the signal on the sound track 22 of a disk 20, block by block. A block to be read is determined by a block address control circuit 30. Digital sound information is expanded digitally and demodulated by a playback signal processing circuit 31 and then sent to a D/A conveter 32 to obtain the specific sound signal. Thus, the capacity of the sound information memory, specially, of the reproducing device is reduced.
