摘要 PURPOSE:To enable detection of an error in the tooth profile of a helical gear by measuring the shape of the tooth to be measured by a probe having a measuring coordinate system, calculating the theoretical shape of the tooth surface to be measured and comparing the calculated result with the measured result on the theoretical coordinate system. CONSTITUTION:The inspecting instrument is constituted with a measuring unit 20 consisting of a u-axis sliding table 21, a v-axis sliding table 22 provided with a ball probe 23 and photoelectric linear encoders 24, 25, etc. and a control unit 30 consisting of a microprocessor (CPU) 35, controllers 31, 32, counters 33, 34, etc. The probe 23 is moved along the tooth surface of the tooth 10 to be measured and the shape thereof is measured by the measuring coordinate system. The theoretical shape on the theoretical coordinate system is calculated by the CPU 35 and the calculated result and the measured result are compared on the theoretical system, by which the error in the tooth profile of the helical gear is determined.
