PURPOSE:To assort long rod members simultaneously with transfer by executing control at each transfer movement of a transfer apparatus so that the first receiving means which receives a plurality of long rod members in equal pitch advance and retreats in the width in integer multiples of the pitch. CONSTITUTION:When 95 pieces are bundled in one unit, ten pieces are loaded into ten grooves 11 on a roller table 10, and a transfer apparatus 9 is raised, and ten pieces of long rod members on the table 10 are scooped. The second receiving means 9 as transfer apparatus receives ten pieces and advances, and lowers them at a prescribed position, and ten pieces are received onto the first receiving means 5, and sent into the bundle part, loaded onto a transportation surface 1. Similar operation is repeated in nine times, and the receiving elements 7, 7... ranging from the sixth to the tenth of the second receiving means 9 receive five pieces of the long rod members, and other five pieces of the long rod members are transferred onto the transportation surface 1, and 95 pieces are transferred to the bundle part, and 95 pieces are assorted by ten times of operations.
