PURPOSE:To easily judge whether recording signals corresponding to tracks are an image or information by providing a track dedicated to recording for identifying whether the recording signals corresponding to the tracks are an image or information. CONSTITUTION:A video signal is recorded on the 1st track on a magnetic disk and an information signal is recorded on the 2nd track, and then a video/information identification signal for them is stored in the memory of a control means 6. A recording head moving mechanism 11 is driven with the control signal of the means 6 and a recording head 12 is moved to the 52th track for identification recording to perform recording operation. A reproducing head, on the other hand, is moved to the 52th track during reproduction on the basis of the control signal of the means 6, thereby judging that the image is recorded on the 1st track and the information is recorded on the 2nd track. For example, when the reproduction of the 1st track is indicated, it is decided that the contents are a video signal, and the signal is processed as specified and outputted. |
