PURPOSE:To extend the life of a recording head by applying a waveform gentle at the rising thereof to the recording head to start the energization thereof at the timing gentle in the rising of current synchronizing the waveform. CONSTITUTION:When the zero-cross position is detected in the waveform of a power source line VT, a signal line SG2 is set at a high level H. The energization of heat generating elements of a thermal head is always started from the zero cross position of a ripple voltage waveform VT and current flows to a specified phase. As the sine wave is full-wave rectified, the voltage waveform VT rises gently from the zero cross position and current flowing through the heat generating elements rises gently as a whole. Thus, the impact of current to be applied on the heat generating elements is limited. |
