System which comprises an open fuel tank 18 in which the fuel is metered and a series of capillary tubes 20, each of which extend from the fuel tank 18 to a point of an induction manifold (collector) adjacent to the inlet valve of the corresponding cylinder of the engine. The fuel may be metered by a device similar to the carburettor which extracts fuel from a float chamber or by means of a simple solenoid valve connected between the tank and a source of pressurized fuel. The ends of the capillary tubes end in the fuel tank immediately above the level of fuel in such a manner that when the fuel rises, the additional fuel metered in the tank is sucked inside the capillary tubes and transferred directly to the engine cylinders.
|
