PURPOSE:To record digital signals without increasing a band by applying the time division multiplex to signals of data, etc., subjected to frequency multiplex on video signals for a vertical blanking period of the video signal. CONSTITUTION:When signals are inputted from an input terminal 101, video signals and digital signals are separated in BPFs 99 and 100. The digital signal is separated and demodulated in terms of frequency in a separator circuit 83. Then the digital signal is compressed in a time base compressor 80, and multiplexed in an adder 77 for a vertical period of the video signal. On the other hand, the video signal is demodulated in terms of angle by a time division multiplex signal in a demodulator 97 and inputted to a switch 98, which is connected to an L side. The time division multiplex signal passes through switches 79 and 78, is multiplexed in terms of time division with the digital signal in the adder 77, and recorded through an angle modulator 76, recording amplifier 75 and magnetic head 74.
