PURPOSE:To prevent the channeling of a permeated fluid and to reduce the contamination of the permeated fluid at the secondary side to a minimum by providing a spacer between the inner peripheral surface of an outer cylinder and the outer peripheral surface of a group of hollow yarn-shaped membranes or a reticular material covering a group of tubular membranes or a porous tube, and keeping the clearance between the inner peripheral surface and the outer peripheral surface uniform. CONSTITUTION:Plural hollow yarn-shaped membranes 1 or tubular membranes are bundled in parallel, and the outer periphery is covered with a reticular material 2 or a porous tube. The assembly is then encased in a cylindrical case 3. Plural spacers 11 are provided in the axial direction between the inner peripheral surface of the case 3 and the outer peripheral surface of the reticular material 2 to hold concentrically the case 3 and a group of membranes 1. Accordingly, the clearance 12 between the inner peripheral surface 3 and the outer peripheral surface of the reticular material 2 is kept uniform in the circumferential direction. Consequently, the channeling and stagnation of the permeated fluid flowing through the clearance 12 can be prevented.
