PURPOSE:To concentrate an oil-soluble substance with high efficiency by bringing a high-temp. nonaqueous soln. contg. an oil-soluble substance into contact with a porous polymer membrane which is permeable to the vapor of the nonaqueous soln. and is impermeable to the nonaqueous soln., and cooling and condensing the vapor of the nonaqueous soln. which is permeated through the membrane. CONSTITUTION:A nonaqueous soln. such as toluene contg. polyethylene glycol is heated by a heater 6, and introduced into an untreated liquid passage 3 which is formed between an outer tube 1 and a membrane tube 2 of a porous polymer membrane consisting of tetrafluoroethylene, etc. A heat-transfer tube 9 is arranged at the inside of the membrane tube 2 and apart from the membrane tube 2 so that a vapor diffusing space 1 may be formed. A refrigerant is circulated through the inside of the heat-transfer tube 9. The vapor of the nonaqueous soln. is permeated through the membrane tube 2, cooled by the heat-transfer tube 9, and taken out as a condensate from a discharge pipe 13.
