PURPOSE:To shorten the necessary time of image formation by starting image forming operation immediately after next image formation is indicated within a specific time in which an image holder is held in the operation of a preliminary fatigue stage including an electrostatic charging and a destaticizing stage. CONSTITUTION:When there are plural originals, a continuous original switch S37 is turned on and then a copy switch S28 is turned on. A control circuit 31 controls drivers 32, 34, and 35 to rotate a motor 33. and then a photosensitive drum is rotated and an electrifier 12 for electrostatic charging and a destaticizing lamp 30 are put in operation. Consequently, the preliminary fatigue stage is carried out and then copying operation is started. The circuit 31 operates a timer 36 on the copying operation to hold the photosensitive drum in rotary motion and also hold the electrifier 12 and lamp 30 on. If an original is replaced and the S38 is operated before the timer 36 supplies a time-out signal, the circuit 31 stops the timer 36 and starts the copying operation while omitting the preliminary fatigue stage. |
