PURPOSE:To prevent a sound absorbing material from scattering and improve muffling effect by winding said sound absorbing material around an inner pipe having permeability and covering it with a braided pipe to constitute a sound absorbing member, covering this member with a hollow pipe, and connecting its inner space to said inner pipe. CONSTITUTION:A sound absorbing material 2 is wound around a punched pipe 1, and is pressedly supported by a braided pipe 3, constituting a sound absorbing member part. This sound absorbing member part is covered by a hollow pipe 4 which is fixed to a punched pipe 1 at its throttled ports 41 on both sides on the outer parts of the sound absorbing material mounting range L. Small openings 6 are provided on the punched pipe 1 at the outer parts on both sides of said range L, to connect the space 5 in the hollow pipe 4 to a main exhaust passage which runs through the punched pipe 1. Thereby, gaps in the sound absorbing material 2 can be crushed to maintain uniform density in each part. And, a reflecting effect, an interfering effect, and a resonant effect can also be combinedly provided with a sound absorbing effect. |
