PURPOSE:To allow the original feeder to take an adjustment and a test by itself without using any special measuring device by selecting a normal operation mode or a test operation mode in which the original feeding device is tested through a switching means, and displaying states of respective parts of the original feeding device in test operation mode. CONSTITUTION:A copying machine control part 61 detects an original set signal ORG-RDY and switches the device to the test mode 1 when a switch 74 is off or makes an input check when an original detection switch 67 is on. Namely, on-off states of switches 67-69 and a detector 55 are checked and displayed on three LEDs. Then, the device is switched to a test mode 1 when the signal ORG- RDY is off and switches 74 and 73 are on and off respectively. When a copy switch 62 is turned on, ADF independent operation is carried on until the switch 67 is turned off. At this time, the states of the respective parts are displayed on LEDs 75-77 in an ADF control part 66 and an operation check is made.
