CYLINDER DISCRIMINATOR FOR MULTI-CYLINDER INTERNAL-COMBUSTION ENGINE

PURPOSE:To realize early firing thus to improve the starting performance considerably by storing the crank angle position of each cylinder under engine stall and deciding the crank angle position state of each cylinder even at first rotation of engine on the basis of said stored data. CONSTITUTION:A crank angle sensor 2 is fixed to the cam shaft 1 for driving an intake/discharge valve rotatable synchronously with the engine to produce the referential position signal for each cylinder. The engine rotation is detected 5A in a control unit 5 on the basis of the output from said sensor 2 to calculate 5B the basic injection in accordance to the output from an air-flow meter 4 and the engine rotation. Memory means 5F for sequentially storing the output signals from means 5F for setting a cylinder group to perform next time ignition on the basis of a referential position signal and #1 cylinder detection signal is provided in the control unit 5. The data stored during stall of engine is stored unitl #1 cylinder detection signal is fed at the start of engine thus to set the cylinder group to be ignited.
