PURPOSE:To enable an idle speed to be controlled in an engine with no influence by its deterioration, by equipping a deterioration detecting means, which detects the deterioration of the engine, and controlling the time constant of a control value for controlling an intake air quantity regulating valve in accordance with a deterioration condition of the engine. CONSTITUTION:A control unit 24, inputting an output signal from sensors 10, 15-19 of various kinds and actuating an injector 12 and an intake air quantity regulating valve 14 to be controlled, equips a control value setting means 25 setting an expected correction quantity R, in which operation of the above described regulating valve 14 is anticipatively controlled in accordance with a load when any of load switches 20-23 detecting an operational condition of the load of various kinds is turned on, by the predetermined time constant. While the control unit 24 provides a control means 26 which controls the regulating valve 14 so as to set an engine to its target idle speed by receiving an output of said means 25. And the control unit 24 further provides a deterioration correcting means 27 which corrects a time constant of the expected correction quantity R, set by the control value setting means 25, in accordance with an output of the deterioration detecting negative pressure sensor 19. |
