JOINING METHOD OF ROLLING STEEL MATERIAL IN HOT ROLLING

PURPOSE:To join securely and surely the cut surfaces at the rear end of a preceding steel material and the front end of a succeeding steel material in hot rolling and to roll continuously and stably the steel materials without cutting by sticking antioxidant films to said cut surfaces and press-welding and joining the cut surfaces of the two materials. CONSTITUTION:The antioxidant films 6 are stuck respectively to the cut surface at the rear end of the preceding steel material 4 and the cut surface at the front end of the succeeding steel material 5. Both cut surfaces are press-welded and coupled, by which the satisfactory joint part having no oxide in the joint part is obtd. The satisfactory continuous rolling without breakage of the joined part is thus made possible. The oxidation prevention of the surface of the cut surface 10 is made better and surer if an antioxidant 11 is sprayed from a nozzle 13 provided with an edge part and an antioxidant film 12 is immediately formed on the cut surface 10 in the stage of shearing 9, 10 the end 8.
