The device produces a stereoscopic image, on a single film or screen, of any object or person examined with X-rays, and reads the image. It comprises the following: a. A system G1 for producing the image: either a grid consisting of bands alternately opaque and transparent to X-rays, positioned in such a way as to define on the film or screen bands printed alternately by only one of the X-ray foci FO1 and FO2; or elements superimposing on the television screen two complete, differently coloured images determined by each of the two X-ray foci. b. An associated system G2 enabling each eye of the observer to see only the single image intended for it: either a grid with positioning devices formed by bands alternately opaque and transparent to light, or polarising the light alternately in crossed directions and reading with polarised spectacles; or reading with coloured spectacles. The device is suitable for any standard installation without affecting normal use and can be used in the most varied fields. <IMAGE>
