<p>PURPOSE:To prevent variation in pressure in each of cylinders by making the inside diameter of an intake manifold the same as that of an intake air inertia pipe and making the lengths of the intake manifold of each group up to the joints of these pipes the same, in an exhaust turbine supercharging engine with intake air inertia pipes. CONSTITUTION:In a four cylinder internal-combustion engine which has an intake air inertia pipe 2 and in which an exhaust air turbine supercharger 3 is connected to an exhaust manifold 12, the inside diameter d2 of the intake manifold 1 for #2, #3 cylinders, the inside diameter d1 of the intake manifold 1 for #1, #4 cylinders, and the intake diameter d3 of the intake air inertia pipe 2 are made the same diameter. And, the lengths of intake manifolds up to a joint A-A between these manifold and the intake air inertia pipe 2 are set to be equal as l1=l2. And, further, the upper course side opening end faces of the intake air inertia pipes 2 for the #1, #4 cylinders and for the #2, #3 cylinders respectively, and which are connected to the outlet of the blower 3A of a supercharger 3 are made flush with each other.</p> |
