PURPOSE:To add an intial velocity to a rocket, by integrally forming the lower portion of a launch pedestal with a tank into and out of which water can be poured, and by disposing the launch pedestal in a launch cylinder extending through the central portion of a ship hull, and by enclosing air in the tank and holding it protrusively down from the bottom of the ship prior to launching, and by impulsively buoying up the launch pedestal simultaneously with the launching. CONSTITUTION:A launch cylinder 2 open at both the ends is provided in the central straight portion of a ship hull so that the cylinder extends through the deckes and bottom plank of the ship. A launch pedestal 3 is provided in the launch cylinder 2 so that the pedestal can be moved up and down. A tank 25, into and out of which water can be poured, is integrally formed in the lower portion of the launch pedestal 3. A rocket rest 4 is provided on the tank 25. To launch a rocket, air is enclosed in the tank 25 and the tank is protruded down from the bottom of the ship and held by an engaging portion 6 and a trigger 5. The trigger 5 is disengaged from the tank 25 simultaneously with the launching of the rocket so that the launch pedestal 3 is impulsively buoyed up to add an effective initial velocity to the rocket.
