A baking and roasting oven has electrical top and bottom heaters (2,3) and also a separately switched grill heater (4). In the heating circuit to the top and bottom heaters (2,3), a temp. regulator (6,6') for the oven chamber temp. is connected and also a selector switch for selecting the heaters (2,3,4). The grill heater (4) can be connected in series with this temp. controller (6,6') either via a separately operated switch or by a change-over switch (7,7') connected to this selector switch. Pref. the change-over switch (7,7') is connected onthe upstream or input side to the heaters (2,3,4) and comprises a first position (I), in which the heaters (2,3) for top and bottom of the oven are brought into series with the oven temp. controller (6,6'), and a second position (II) in which the grill heater (4) is brought into series with the controller. The change-over switch (7,7') may be mounted on the axis of the selector switch.
