PURPOSE:To obtain a fiber reinforced resin structure having air bubbles present therein so as to be reduced and made fine as possible and posessing sufficient strength, by preparing a long fiber reinforced resin structure under an adjusted atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:An air-tight container 9 is held under a reduced pressure atmosphere. A raw yarn 4 comprising a carbon fiber is immersed in an impregnation apparatus 7 before wound up by a wind-up jig 8. Because the atmosphere of the apparatus is under reduced pressure, moisture or air in the fiber is preliminarily removed and a resin solution is rapidly penetrated into the fiber and adhered thereto. The wind-up jig 8 winds up the raw yarn 4 while reciprocates in left and right directions by the guidance of a traverse guide 10 and, after the raw yarn 4 is laminated so as to reach a desired thickness, internal pressure of the air-tight container 9 is returned to atmospheric one. Whereupon, the resin on the surface of the laminate is pressurized and sufficiently penetrated into said laminate. Even if air slightly remains at the time of lamination, said air is pressed by the penetrating resin and the size of air bubbles becomes fine. Next, the laminate is heated under atmospheric pressure or forcible pressure and cured. By this method, a structural material having high rigidity and receiving the reduced effect of air bubbles is obtained. |
