The invention relates to potentiometers for adjusting cathode tube electrode voltage for colour television. In the known voltage-generating devices a special potentiometer capable of withstanding several kilovolts is used to provide an adjustable voltage. According to the invention, the track of the potentiometer is produced using a resistive layer 2 arranged actually inside the voltage outlet duct 10 and the slider of the potentiometer is produced using the end of the high-voltage cable 9 inserted into the said duct and able to slide in this duct in order to adjust the voltage. <IMAGE>
