The subject of the invention is a method and an automatic machine for folding and adhesively bonding cardboard boxes. A machine according to the invention comprises a rotary conveyor which is composed of a central plate 12 which is driven in rotation about a vertical axis z zl and which carries four arms 131, 132, 133, 134 arranged in the shape of a cross. Each arm comprises an open frame 141, 142, 15, inside which are mounted two pairs of fixed guide rods 161, 162 which are perpendicular to the radial axis of the arm. It comprises two pairs of movable guide rods, parallel to the radial axis of the arm. The machine comprises four fixed work-stations, under each of which each arm stops in succession. It comprises adhesive-dispensing guns 23a, 23b, 24a, 24b, 25, 26 which deposit beads of adhesive in the shape of an arc of a circle onto the plane forms placed on the arms.
