PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intermittent coater which can accurately form each length of coated sections and uncoated sections intermittently applied on a web.SOLUTION: An intermittent coater has a die 18 arranged on the top face of a running web W, a valve 24 that alternately forms coated sections and uncoated sections on the top face of the web W with the die 18, an encoder 26 that outputs pulse signals including a number of pulses proportional to a running speed, a length measurement sensor 34 that measures lengths of the coated sections on the top face, and a control part 28 that performs coating until a number of pulses counted from the start of coating by the valve 26 reaches a number of coating pulses corresponding to the lengths of the coated sections to compare the lengths of the coated sections on the top face measured by the length measurement sensor 34 with first lengths, and to add or subtract a number of coating pulses corresponding to a difference if present.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
