The follow-up appliance is composed of a packer frame (1), having at least one packer roll (2) mounted therein, with pull arms (3, 4) which are arranged on the two frame sides (1a) pointing in opposite directions of travel (A, B) and which are alternately pivotable into a pulling position and a position of rest, and of an additional frame (8) which has at least one additional appliance (9), preferably an additional roller, such as a tilling roller, and which is connected such that it follows the packer frame (1) in an articulated mounting via a drawbar (10) and, in the event of a change of the direction of travel of the follow-up appliance, can be transferred relative to the packer frame (1) through 180 DEG about the articulated mounting into an alternate follow-up position. The articulated mounting is formed by a vertical shaft (11) which is arranged outside the circumferential region of the packer frame (1) and which is preferably arranged on a frame side (1b) extending in the direction of travel (A, B). Arranged on the packer frame (1) are fixing pockets (12), by means of which the additional frame (8) can be connected to the packer frame (1) to form an inherently stable positively connected unit; in this arrangement, the fixing pockets (12) can be coupled to the drawbar (10) and/or to the additional frame (8) preferably by means of a catch connection. <IMAGE>
