PURPOSE:To enable the printing at a varied density in terms of dots by varying the supply energy with ingradient of the electrical resister resistance value at a heating section within the same dot depending on location. CONSTITUTION:When a pulse current flows between electrodes 2 and 3, an electric resistor 1 rises higher in the temperature at a narrow range 1a section while lower at a broad range 1b section. Now, when a less electric energy is applied to the electric resistor 1, the part 5a of a thermal ink 5 is transferred onto a paper 6 at the section 1b alone. Then, as the electric energy increases gradually, the transfer of the thermal ink 5 onto the paper 6 spreads in the quantity to the parts 5a, 5b and 5c. Thus, a printer with a contrast capable of expressing a varied density in terms of dots can be obtained. The thermal head thus obtained enables full color printing with a varied density by piling thermal ink films in three primary colors sequentially to print. |
