In order, in a process for treating board-shaped objects, in particular electrical circuit boards, with a mixture of a liquid and pumice flour, to reduce the quantity of entrained pumice flour, it is proposed to feed the rinsing liquid mixed with the washed-off pumice flour to an intermediate tank, from there to conduct it into a filter device, in the latter to separate out the majority of the entrained pumice flour and to use the rinsing liquid again for cleaning the objects, to feed the separated-out pumice flour to the catch tank, to remove a small proportion of the rinsing liquid from which the pumice flour has been separated out from the rinsing liquid circuit and dispose of it and to feed an equal amount of liquid to the rinsing liquid circuit again, which liquid is composed of one part of the treatment liquid of the receiving tank mixed with pumice flour and one part of pure liquid from an external source. Furthermore, a device for carrying out this process is described.
