A measurement transmitter (1) consists essentially of a combination of a mechanical counting mechanism (4) and of an electrical control-pulse transmitter (5). The counting mechanism (4) and the control-pulse transmitter (5) are rigidly coupled to one another via a hollow shaft (2). The rotational movement of the hollow shaft (2) is transmitted to the counting mechanism (4) via a drive gearwheel (7). At the same time, the drive gearwheel (7) can be used as a transmitter for the control-pulse transmitter (5). Suitable marking on the drive gearwheel (7) then has assigned to it a proximity switch (11) of the control-pulse transmitter (5) which supplies control pulses to an electronics unit (12). A pulse disc, which can be used as a transmitter for the control-pulse transmitter, can also be connected to the hollow shaft (2). <IMAGE>
