A chain-braking device for actuating a spring-loaded brake for a motor-driven chainsaw has a hand protection bow which serves as a trigger. The said trigger is connected to a tensioning and braking element, the braking element being arranged on a brake band surrounding a brake drum. It can be held in the stand-by condition by means of a latching device, counter to the force of a brake spring engaging on it, in which position the brake band is raised from the brake drum. In the braking position of the braking element, the tensioning element moves into the path of revolution of a cam-like driver seated on the crankshaft. The braking element and the tensioning element are held in the stand-by position via an articulated connection which is held together by an actuating element which engages by means of a stop on the hand protection bow. |
