PURPOSE:To enable a character in concern to be easily found in a document file when correcting a printed character or in other similar occasions, by automatically printing line numbers at predetermined positions when printing a formed document, in a portable-type document-forming device or the like. CONSTITUTION:Characters or the like inputted through a key input part 1 are stored in the document file 2. For example, when printing a document by designating a page of the document as a unit, a printing-controlling part 3 reads the document in terms of JIS codes (a) with each line as a unit, and operates a counter 4 by an increment. When the count reaches, for example, a prescribed multiple of 5, a line number printing command 1 is sent to a printer-controlling part 5, and prior to printing the characters or the like in the relevant line, a printer 6 is controlled to move a printing head to the left and of a paper, the count in the counter 4 indicating the line number is printed, and then the characters or the like in the line are printed. Accordingly, by checking the line numbers printed together with the document, it is possible to find the line number of the line in which a predetermined piece of document is printed. |
