Disclosed is a method for automatically blocking a dark current of a battery pack. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the method for automatically blocking a dark current of a battery pack is used in an apparatus or a system including an energy storage system (ESS) or an electric bicycle and comprises the following steps. When the battery pack is separated from the apparatus or the system, a microcontroller provided in the battery pack counts from the separation time of the battery pack to a time to leave the battery pack as it is. The microcontroller compares the counted time with a preset reference time in a state where the battery pack is separated. As the comparison result, when it is determined that the time to leave the battery pack as it is is greater than the preset reference time, the microcontroller cuts off the operating power supply to a battery management system control board provided in the battery pack and automatically blocks the dark current of the battery pack. The time to leave the battery pack as it is and the preset reference time are updated at a predetermined constant time period, or are undated when the battery pack satisfies a predetermined update condition. |
