Antenna for receiving electrical and electromagnetic alternating fields in the 10 Hz to > 1 MHz frequency range, characterised in that an electro-optical crystal which is several centimetres in length is disposed between the resonator mirrors of a Fabry-Perot interferometer, is illuminated with a laser beam and the output intensity of the slightly detuned interferometer is modulated by refraction index fluctuations in the crystal caused by the incident outer fields, is converted back into an electric signal in a known manner and undergoes narrowband amplification.
