In the case of electrolyte capacitors having a solid electrolyte in the form of a semiconducting layer onto which, for the purpose of contacting, a graphite layer and thereupon a silver-containing contact layer is applied, the silver-containing contact layer is generated by applying a suspension of silver citrate and decomposing the silver citrate at temperatures from 170 to 240 DEG C. Thus temporary deterioration of the loss factor of the capacitor, especially under the influence of moisture, is avoided.
