The invention relates to a exhaust-gas extraction device for track-making roadways, in which, outside the clear-space profile of the vehicles, an extraction channel is held freely, which follows the course of the roadway true to the track and which is connected to an extraction blower. Provided on the underside of the extraction channel is an elongated slot which is closed by a pair of elastic sealing lips and through which a vehicle-side exhaust-gas snorkel can slide. In order to be able to manufacture such an extraction device as cheaply as possible and to mount it as simply as possible, the exhaust-gas channel is divided into relatively short channel sections which can be manufactured from simple primary products and which are relatively easy to handle during assembly. The individual channel sections are interconnected by circumferentially open sleeves so that the wall sheets of the channel sections are, whilst sealingly, nevertheless limitedly angularly interconnected. The sleeves are in turn stiffened by yoke plates which can likewsie be manufactured simply and constitute a flexurally hard outwardly situated stiffening support. Moreover, the elongated slot edges are likewise stiffened by stiffening supports against bending as a result of inner low pressure.
