PURPOSE:To prevent burring of a protective film from occurring at the time of thermal transfer, by a method wherein a protective film provided with a hardness of 3B-6B is thermally transferred onto a shaped blank formed of a metal or the like, and is hardened to a hardness of 2H-5H by irradiating with electron rays or UV rays. CONSTITUTION:A releasable film 2 of an acrylic synthetic resin or the like, the protective film 3 formed from a synthetic resin coating material based on alkyd, polyester or the like, a vacuum-deposited film 4, and an adhesive film 5 are provided on a base film 1 having a thickness of 25mum to produce a hot stamping foil. The protective film 2 of the hot stamping foil thus obtained is hardened to a hardness of 3B-6B by irradiating with electron rays or UV rays, and the protective film is thermally transferred onto the shaped blank of a plastic, a metal or the like. Then, the protective film is hardened to a hardness of 2H-5H by irradiating with electron rays or UV rays. |
