PURPOSE:To separate and extract automatically the profile of plural objects subjected to overlapping by lighting an object for plural times with a prescribed luminous amount from a different direction and operating logical product of the information of plural binary-coded pictures picked up in synchronization with each lighted light. CONSTITUTION:A frame memory 4 consists of memories 4a, 4b of a number corresponding to the number of stroboscopes 2, 2 as a means irradiating prescribed luminous amount for plural times in a different direction and the output is given to a display device 5 via an AND circuit 6 as a means of AND operation. A trigger signal TG is outputted alternately to the plural stroboscopes 2, 2 by a changeover switch SW, fruits A are lighted from the different direction, the image is picked up by a video camera 1, a binary-coded picture signal D2 is stored in the corresponding frame memories 4a, 4b, and the AND circuit 6 ANDs the picture signal stored in the frame memories 4a, 4b.
