The invention can be used in the building of hermetic refrigerant compressors, in particular with vertically arranged crankshaft, compressor lying at the top and oil cooling in the capsule. The aim and object of the invention is, with maximum damping of the suction gas, to achieve a raised degree of filling in the compressor, by obtaining a charging effect in or after the damping region. The features of the invention consist in that the suction damper consists of an outer and an inner moulded part which, in addition to the damping region, has a coiled flowthrough cross-section for a gas column which is capable of oscillation.
