PURPOSE:To obtain an original printing plate high in sensitivity and printing resistance by forming an electrostatic charge generating layer contg. an azo pigment represented by a specified general formula and a charge transfer layer contg. a charge transfer material and an alkali-soluble resin on a conductive substrate. CONSTITUTION:The printing plate to be formed by the electrophotographic process is obtained by laminating the charge generating layer 3 contg. an azo pigment and further, the charge transfer layer 4 on the conductive substrate to form the printing plate 2 for the electrophotographic engraving. Said azo pigment is represented by the formula, A being a coupler residue, and as this coupler, compds., each having phenolic hydroxyl group, such as phenols, and naphthols; aromatic amino compds,; aminonaphthols each having phenolic hydroxyl group and an amino group; and compds. each having aliphatic and aromatic phenolic ketone group can be used for the charge generating layer 3. |
