PURPOSE:To improve the heat resistance of a steel member and to pervent the erosion due to molten Al by coating a coating agent obtained by mixing the mixed powder of forsterite and kaolinite with a binder on the surface of a steel member in contact with molten Al, and dring. CONSTITUTION:Forsterite powder and kaolinite powder each having <=150 mesh are mixed in 5:1 weight ratio. Besides, 3pts. sodium silicate, 2pts. potassium silicate, 5pts. colloidal sodium silicate, and 12pts. water are sufficiently mixed, and the mixture is diluted with water by 2-3 times to prepare a binder. The binder and said mixed powder are mixed in 6:4-7:3 ratio and kneaded, and the product is coated on the inner surface of a stalk made of steel to form a ceramic protective film in 1-3mm. thickness. Accordingly, since the inner surface of the stalk may not be eroded by molten Al passing through the inside of the stalk, the contamination of the Al melt by Fe of the stalk can be prevented. |
