发明名称 METHOD FOR REMOVING CHLORINE IN WET ELECTROLYTIC REFINING OF METAL
摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To remove economically and surely the chlorine in a sulfuric electrolyte and to stabilize the quality of the electrolytic metal by oxidizing and removing chlorine ions in the sulfuric electrolyte in a dechlorination electrolytic cell in the wet electrolytic refining of metal. CONSTITUTION:When an aq. sulfuric acid soln. contg. valuable metals such as zinc and copper is electrolyzed to collect said metals, a new anode or a reconditioned anode freed from a manganese crust is set in a dechlorination electrolytic cell which is provided separately from a main electrolytic cell, and said sulfuric electrolyte is electrolyzed. Consequently, zinc, etc. is deposited on the cathode, gaseous oxygen is generated at the anode due to the electrolytic decomposition, and chlorine ions in the electrolyte are simultaneously oxidized to gaseous chlorine due to the electrode reaction and discharged. The gaseous chlorine is removed in a gas washing equipment, and the waster gas is then discharged to the atmosphere. Meanwhile, the electrolyte is transferred into the main electrolytic cell along with the anode on which a crust contg. manganese dioxde to some extent is deposited, and electrolytic refining is carried out until the amt. of crust on the anode reaches the limit value.</p>
