Embodiments of the present invention provide a network control method and apparatus, where the method includes: acquiring network resource information and running status information of each controller in a controller cluster, where the controller cluster includes a subdomain controller and a parent controller, where the subdomain controller discovers and controls a subdomain network, and the parent controller controls a global network based on the subdomain controller; determining a faulty controller, determining a secondary controller according to the network resource information and the running status information of each controller in the controller cluster, and forwarding network resource information of the faulty controller to the secondary controller, so that the secondary controller controls a network controlled by the faulty controller, so as to solve a problem in the prior art that network congestion occurs because performance of an SDN controller does not meet a requirement when a network controlled by the SDN controller is relatively large. |
