Below the discharge (20) of a conveyor (15) for the imbricated stream, a stack carrier (46) is arranged rotating about an upright axis (54). The stack carrier (46) and at least the discharge (20) from the conveyor (15) are vertically adjustable with respect to one another. To increase the capacity of the resulting coiled stack (55), or to reduce its height for the same content, means (59, 58, 57, 56) are provided for periodically bringing the discharge (20) of the conveyor (15) and the axis of rotation (54) of the stack carrier (46) towards one another and for distancing them from one another. A coiled stack thus results in which each winding of the coil consists of a spiral leading from the inside outwards or from the inside inwards, preferably with a plurality of spiral windings. <IMAGE> |
