PURPOSE:To eliminate a drying device which serves to dehydrate smoke washing exhaust water sludge, by a method wherein the smoke washing exhaust water sludge containing heavy metal generated from a waste incinerating installation is mixed with dust collected by a dust collector within the same incinerating installation, and the mixture is molten for disposal by a direct electrical connection type melt disposing furnace. CONSTITUTION:Exhaust gas 14 after combustion generated from an incinerator 12 is introduced to an electric dust collector 15, and dust 16 containing heavy metal flowing togetherwith the exhaust gas is collected and removed. Exhaust gas 14a flowing through the electric dust collector 15 is guided to a gas cleansing device 17 where water is sprinkled to cleanse the exhaust gas. In which case, dust and soot, not collected by the electric dust collector 15, are collected by means of sprinkled water, are fed as smoke washing exhaust water 18 to a smoke washing exhaust water pit 19, and are left to stand therein, supernatant liquid being purified by a waste disposing device. Smoke washing exhaust water sludge 20, accumulated on the bottom of the smoke washing exhaust water pit 19, is mixed with the dust 16, collected by the electric dust collector 15, for melt-disposal within a direct electrical connection type melt disposing furnace 21, and the sludge produces slug 22, which is prevented from eluation of a noxious component, resulting in production of a stabilized and innoxious material.
